Last year we created Awesome Newcastle, a local chapter of the global Awesome Foundation. In the first six months we’ve helped community projects with $6,000 in no-strings-attached grants and have met 18 awesome finalists. We’re for can-do people with ideas and determination. It’s been a great journey and we’re just getting started. You can meet all of the grant winners on our ‘Grants’ page.

We’re looking for two new permanent board members. We’re looking for interesting and interested people who can’t wait to give up their own time and money every month. We meet on the last Thursday of every month to pay it forward and help make awesome happen. Our ‘About’ page explains things further; the commitment is $100 and one Thursday evening per month. Two founding board members with Thursday commitments have stepped aside to create these new positions. Along with meeting great finalists every month and helping create change, you’ll join like-minds on the board and will meet new guest board members every month.

There are no strings attached and Awesome Newcastle takes nothing in return (just good vibes). This is about paying it forward and helping make awesome happen.
